My precious daughter, Sarah, rode in a car with a distracted, careless driver. That became her exit from this life. She had just turned 16 and was so excited to be on her way to adulthood. She had decided on Flagler College in St. Augustine and was considering a career in research psychology. Sarah dreamed of the excitement and opportunities that come with living in a big city one day.

We all knew that she would go on to do great things because she was extremely intelligent and at the same time, also a wise old soul. She was a so funny and so endearing. Sarah was a sweetheart and people were drawn to her ability to put them at ease and make them smile, no matter what problems they laid in her lap. And she had all of the special qualities it takes to make her the best big sister, ever.

Sarah HAS gone on to do great things….it just wasn’t at all in the way we had hoped for. One of those great things is that she gave the gift of life through the offering of her vital organs to 5 people that desperately needed them. We have been fortunate to meet the little boy who received her heart. It was powerful beyond human words to listen to her heart beating healthily and happily inside his chest.

Not only did Sarah give the gift of life through her organs after her passing…she gave us the gift of knowing, without a doubt, that our energy can’t be destroyed. What we call death is really a transition to a different phase of being. Her spirit is free to fly now in pure joy and unconditional love. We honor you, Sarah.
