Kenny Flynn

Organ Donor Hall of Fame Icon

Kenny was an avid animal lover. He devoted his last 4 1/2 years of his life to the Humane Society of Sarasota County, his home away from home. Hard work and dedication led him to become Lead Animal Care Specialist. He became extremely knowledgeable in the shelter clinic, working side-by-side medical staff and assisting in providing medical care to homeless pets. Kenny’s real passion was animal behavior. He was training with the Canine Behavior Specialist to learn as much as he could about behavior to help shelter pets have more enriched lives. Kenny believed every pet deserves a chance. He spent countless hours and days fostering animals in need of medical or behavioral rehabilitation. Kenny never turned his back to an animal and was always willing to give them a chance. Kenny’s compassion and care were contagious, and he was a shining example of the mission at the Humane Society of Sarasota County and will continue to be, even after his passing.

Kenny was sensitive and selfless and lived with reckless abandon. He wore his heart on his sleeve. In spite of his own struggles, he truly cared about everyone else and wanted to help them however he could and was quick to offer words of encouragement to his friends.

He was talented in the arts and enjoyed sketching and drawing and was a gifted piano player. He also loved his video games.

Kenny, you are missed so much and will always be a part of our lives. We hope the recipients of your organs and corneas live long and full lives. Stay Gold.
