Gabriel “Gabe” Gonzalez, Jr
Gabriel Gonzalez Jr (Gabe) was a great kid. I don’t say this because he is my child, I say it because even though he had been in some legal trouble as a juvenile he would do anything for anyone. If someone needed something, he would do his best to get it for the person, or help the person. He basically would give his shirt off his back if he had
too. He never turned his back on any of his friends. He enjoyed listening to music, playing street basketball and loved his friends and family.
On June 27th, 2009 Gabe was walking back from the local 24 hour store and two persons hopped out of a car and confronted he and his friend. As I sat in my house, I heard five shots go off and a loud car drive away. I instantly knew something happened. He was struck once in the leg and once in the back of the head. He was only three houses away from where we reside.
He was rushed to our local hospital and then medflighted into Brighams and Womens Hospital in Boston, MA. I was very hopefully that my son would pull out of this and live. However things were grim when we got the news my son basically had no chance to live. I turned to my mom and asked her what she thought about donating Gabe’s Organs. So I asked a nurse who I would have to talk too. I can’t remember the womans name I spoke too, but she was very helpful.
Gabe was able to donate his Heart, Liver and both Kidneys.
