Not once, but twice, I was given the chance to help save a life. Twice, someone out there was running out of time—and somehow, I was in a position to give them more.

Being a double living organ donor isn’t something I did for recognition. It was for the families who didn’t want to say goodbye… for the moments that almost didn’t happen… for the birthdays, the laughter, the extra time that means everything.

A piece of me is walking around in this world—actually, two pieces—living in two different people, giving them the chance to wake up, to breathe, to keep going.

And I carry that with me every single day.
