Breanne Conterio

- Hello, my name is Breanne “Bree” Conterio. I was born in Hinsdale, IL on 02/27/1990. I lived with my mom, dad, and my two older brothers, Brandon and Danny. I moved to Kansas City, Mo with my boyfriend, Christopher at 19yrs old to continue my studies in Nursing. I wanted to be a Trauma or ER Nurse upon graduation. I have always loved helping people my whole life. I had a great sense of humor, was a kind, and caring person. I also was an animal lover. I rescued 2 dogs, Gizmo & Chole and 1 cat, Nala, and had a fish tank. While living and attending college in KC, I worked part-time as an Assistant Manager at a Pizza Hut and a CNA. In my free time, I enjoyed playing pick up basketball games, barbecuing with my friends and/or family, traveling, listening to music, and learning to cook. I was living my best life! Until tragically I passed away, unexpectedly, at 21yrs old from a pulmonary embolism due to taking the birth control pill, YAZ. My “Angel Day” was 01/09/2012. Upon that day, I was able to give the gift of life to 5 people through Organ Donation: my Heart, Liver, Pancreas, and both Kidneys. I had signed my drivers license when I turned 16yrs old, to be an Organ Donor. My parents honored my wishes! Because of my unselfish gift’s, I was able to help these 5 individuals with a chance at life. I’m still helping people even though I am no longer physically here! My legacy will live on through their lives. My family was fortunate enough to make contact and meet my Heart Recipient, Ray. He and his wife, Susan live in Overland Park, KS. Ray has been gracious to let my family listen to my heart beating inside him. He said, his surgeon told him that we were close to being like a 99% match to one other. Amazing! Ray is a thoughtful, kind, gracious man and he takes such wonderful care of himself. He tells my parents that he wants to help care & preserve my gift (my heart) that I donated to him. My motto: Live well, Laugh Often, Love Much! We can’t take our Organ’s with us, so way not Donate them to help someone else have a chance at Life! 💚💙❤️
