Michele Elise Friou lit up every room with her beautiful smile and her sweet laugh. She was always quick to volunteer her time and energy. Michele graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a degree in elementary education. She went on to excel as a teacher and was Teacher of the Year at her school in 2010. Although she was passionate about teaching, being a mother to her two sons, Travis and Collin,
was her number one priority and her most treasured job. She made every effort to go on field trips with her sons, taking a personal day to join them. She was the team mom for many of their sports teams. She drove the boys to every practice, every game, every Cub Scout meeting, every activity. She made sacrifices so the boys could attend camp each summer. She stressed homework and grades and made sure the boys stayed on top of their assignments.

Michele was a lay minister at her church and counseled those who were experiencing crisis or difficult life situations. She was also a youth volunteer at her church. Michele was an active member and former board member of her neighborhood women’s club.
Michele’s passing has left a void in our hearts but we are comforted knowing her organ
donations have helped others. Her spirit continues to live!
