Colby was born June 9, 1992 in Austin, TX. weighing 9 pounds and was 21 inches long.  From that day forward, he was full of life and had a very sweet, gentle spirit.  As a toddler, he wouldn’t leave the house without his cowboy boots, cowboy hat, blue jeans and belt on.  He also loved horses.  I started calling him “Cowboy Colby.”  He was always smiling and giggling, just a happy boy!

When Colby was 2 years old his baby brother, Bryce, was born.  Colby loved his baby brother very much.   When he was 7 years old, he would go off “into the woods” as he put it, but it was actually just a patch of trees by the house. On one occasion, he came back in the house and told me he had been in the “woods” talking to his Grandfather. I asked him what his name was and he said “Steven.”  My father died in 1974, so this was a shock to me.

Colby was a good student all throughout elementary and loved going to school everyday and had several friends.  On occasion, I would surprise him for lunch at the elementary school.  One particular day, I found him on the playground and he was surrounded by girls and loving it.

Colby had beautiful blue-green eyes and a beautiful smile to match, everyone loved him!  Now, there were times when he would be a little mischevious and get into trouble, but all in all Colby was a good boy.

In middle school, he played football and ran track. We always supported him by going to his games and meets and watching him compete.  His brother, Bryce, especially enjoyed supporting him and watched as he played.  In high school, Colby played football for the Lago Vista Vikings and excelled as a running back. He also ran the 110 and 300m hurdles on Varsity Track.  I know those were some of the happiest times of his life.  We all so proud of him for staying in school and trying his best.  He graduated from Lago Vista High School in June of 2010.

Colby Blake Kelso was a joy to his family and to everyone who met him.  He loved going to the movies, eating chocolate and spending time with his brother and Mom.  Bryce recently became a United States Marine, and yes, Colby would be extremely proud.

We love our sweet boy and look forward to the day when we can all be together in Heaven with him.

His heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, and pancreas were transplanted successfully into six different people.

We miss our beautiful boy very much.
